After no game last week the colts picked up a rearranged fixture. Clevedon found themselves up against a very streetwise side and it wasn't long before they found themselves under pressure. But solid defence kept them at bay, but with Clevedon failing to clear their lines a try was inevitable . This was converted from wide out but with this wake up call the Clevedon pack sprang into action. The front row of Alexander, Button and Coles were getting the upper hand supported by the rest of the pack. But with a continuous supply of ball Clevedon could not make any headway against a robust defence. Clevedon turned around 7-0 adrift but with the words of coach Paul Nichols ringing in their ears took the game to Penarth. Time and time again Clevedon battered into the Penarth defence with Thorne , O'Connell and Russell prominent but the visitors held firm. Penarth seized on Clevedon's mistakes and clinically scored every time they entered into Clevedon's 22. The game finished with the excellent clevedon 8 well on top but no points to show for their endeavours. Clevedon won't play many harder games this season and with a few less mistakes could have been well in contention at the final whistle.
