Clevedon started this game with a high tempo, which they managed to keep up all game long. Powerful driving play by Jo Williams, Mark Buckley and Harvey Russell set up a series of attacking positions from which Tom O'Connell crossed for the opening try. More good work from the forwards enabled Chris Bird to cross for a try shortly after. With Tom Williams and Tom Bullimore punching deep into Taunton territory from the midfield, a quick ruck was set up, which enabled Kevin Hill to pick up and score. The second half continued in much the same vane, with a continuous stream of line out ball from Ryan Smith. Dean Conway was set free and from the resulting ruck and Jo Williams crossed for a classy try. Dave Clarke and Nathaniel Catt were then unleashed into the fray . A turnover and quick hands released the elusive Catt, who sped over from all of 60 yards. He then completed a quick fire double with a powerful drive from close range. The best try of the day was scored by the young James Tuttiet who dived over in the corner after a flowing move .A kicking masterclass was on display as Rory Biggins kicked a penalty and 6 conversions from all parts of the pitch. This week the Colts are at home to Wellington, 3pm kick off . Any players wishing to join the colts should turn up for training on Monday night at 7pm. |
