Clevedon's immaculate ball handling helped them lick Taunton on a beautiful day at the Vale. With the 1st team having no game it gave their usual supporters a feast of flowing rugby to watch. It was also a chance for 1st team fringe halfbacks Littleton and Barnes, to impress the watching 1st team supremos of Hawkes and Tucker.

Clevedon ruthlessly dismantled the usually strong Taunton from the start, with the tight 5 of Kemp, Murray, Littleton, Pearce and Durant dominating every set piece. The back line were also enjoying their day in the sun and with excellent service from scrumhalf Excell. It wasn't long before the young Adie Freeman and the athletic Tim Brooks combined to release the outstanding Wayne Wheeler for his third try in 3 games.

This was quickly added to in the first half with tries from Cates, Brooks, Wheeler and the rejuvenated Jeff Durant, before Freeman wound back the years to stroll through untouched.

The second half saw Italian import Christian Bushy Dalera make a welcome return to the club in place of the livewire Eggy Amor. It didn't take him long to make an impression when more turnover ball from Russell gave him space on the wing, a trademark jinking run saw him beat 4 men before releasing Wheeler for his third try.

Home captain Dauncey saw the opposition were tiring and felt it was a prime opportunity to introduce himself, Robinson, Harvey to the opposition. This served to increase the tempo and it wasn't long before Bassett and Bragg released Cates for his second of the day. Not wanting to be outdone Brooks cut through the Taunton back line to add his second try and Gareth Gould scored his 1st of the season from a charge down. But the Man of the Match had to have the final say with his 4th try of the game and Wayne Wheeler will surely be knocking on the door of the 1st XV with this performance. Tom Excell also stood out, contributing 14 points (7/9) with the boot after winning the fight with Brooks for the goal kicking duties.

Another excellent second team performance and it's now 3 from 3 for Dauncey's Dynamos.
