In very wet conditions Clevedon tried to play running rugby from the start. They soon took the lead with a blind side move resulting in a Dave Rawle try. This was quickly followed by a try from Owen Biggins, which was converted by Steve Johnson. The Old Boys already relegated never gave up but the Clevedon defence never looked in trouble. Clevedon's handling in the wet conditiions was good and skipper Mike Lowis at fly half used his line well. But it was the forwards again who got on the score sheet. An Ashley Vailes blind side break saw the influential Rawle score his second try. Clevedon had all the territorial advantage and before the break James Morgan forced his way over from a rolling maul after a lineout. Johnson converted for Clevedon to lead 24-0 at the break.
The second half was the same pattern. Again good work by Rawle set the ball up for a great handling movement ending in Chris Cates scoring the try of the match in the corner. In quick succession Tom Thie scored two tries after good forward work. Johnson converting the latter. Owen Biggins walked over the line for his second try again converted by Johnson. The Old Boys were rewarded in the end with a try, but Mike Lowis had the last laugh with a try from a tapped penalty. A good result and with Cheltenham losing Clevedon moved into the middle of the table.
