Clevedon 25 Midsomer Norton 17

Rugby is a game made for all shapes and sizes, and never was this displayed more prominently than in this game. In the end the bulk of Norton just failed to beat the youthful and lithe Clevedon. Skipper Neil West was pleased with his charges' first outing of the season, and hoped that some of the youngsters might slow down by the end of it. There were strong performances by the Filby sisters, Wayne Wheeler, Ben Carrol and the evergreen Butch Dunn. Ollie Morris scored a cracking try after almost the whole team was involved. Six changes were made at half time, but the shape remained the same. Ben Hazeldine proved to be the match winner with 20 points. Finally the match was well ref'd by Jeff Dunn.
