Clevedon's venture into Gloucester proved to be a victorious one. They played up the slope and into the wind in the first half and took an early lead through a brilliant individual try by Mike Lowis from his own line. This was quickly followed by a try for Owen Biggins from good team approach work. Clevedon then went through a passage of slack tackling and allowed the Old Boys back into the game. They scored a try from close range, which was converted. Again Clevedon's slick passing and support play resulted in Lowis scoring his second try. Before the break, the home side scored their second try that was converted for Clevedon to lead 14-15 at the break. The second half was littered with mistakes by both sides but again good back play resulted in Ashley Vailes scoring a superb try, which Lowis converted. Although the Old Boys strength was in their pack, John Pearce and Jeff Durant had outstanding games. Clevedon, who had struggled in the scrums early on, put the squeeze on late in the game and good scrum pressure resulted in Chris Cates scoring in the corner from a well timed pass by Steve Johnson. Tim Brooks converted from wide out. Match day photos can be found here An additional 49 photos from Johnboy Higman can be found here. -->Next week Clevedon are at home to Hornets in the League.
