Clevedon started well but the early exchanges were even and took the lead through the trusty boot of Steve Johnson with two penalties. Both sides played open rugby with good support play but Clevedon created more chances and failed to drive home their advantage. Steve Johnson increased the lead with his third penalty.

Clevedon's lineout play was exceptional with Durant and Pearce dominating. All good ball was wasted due to handling errors and the final pass being delayed. Johnson kicked his fourth penalty for Clevedon to lead 12-0 at the break.

The second half started encouragingly with Clevedon clicking and a good handling movement resulted in Tom O'Rourke scoring a try, which Johnson converted. Clevedon followed up with another fine piece of open rugby, which resulted in Christian Bushell going over for a try.

Good sustained pressure by Crediton resulted in a try. Clevedon hit back with a fine individual try by Chris Cates who outstripped the visitors defence to score wide out.

Clevedon defended well in the dying minutes to record a well earned win.
