This Somerset Cup local derby lived up to all expectations with Gordano's well organised forwards dominating early on against a well drilled Clevedon outfit. Gordano took the game to Clevedon but Clevedon's defence as normal was superb. Clevedon threatened in break aways and good tackles kept Christian Bushell out on numerous occasions. Steve Johnson kicked Clevedon into the lead with a penalty and just before half time, a strike against the head by Clevedon in the scrum enabled the devastating Tim Brooks to crash over for a try. Clevedon led 8-0 at the break. The second half saw Clevedon start with a bang and Tim Brooks increased the lead with a well executed try, which Johnson converted. Clevedon were now in the driving seat and spread the ball wide on every occasion to make the Gordano forwards do the chasing. A superb handling movement and some fine finishing saw Ashley Vailes score wide out. Johnson again converted. Gordano got their just rewards with a well taken try, which was converted. However, Clevedon had the final say with an excellent try by Tom O'Rourke who had an outstanding game. Gordano were battling to the end when the final whistle brought procedings to a close.
