Clevedon completed the treble over Hornets with five wing tries, which says a great deal for the style of rugby played this season. Clevedon welcomed back Christian Bushell who opened the scoring with an excellent try after a quick tapped penalty. Steve Johnson converted. Hornets got on the score sheet with a penalty. Clevedon's pack were dominant in the scrums and provided Tim Brooks and his young charges with ample possession, but Clevedon found it hard to break down a stubborn Hornets defence. Steve Johnson increased Clevedon's lead with a penalty. Hornets replied with a penalty to keep them in touch. Before the break a series of rucks resulted in Bushell getting his second try. Clevedon led 15 - 6 at the interval.

Hornets came at Clevedon straight from the restart, but a dropped pass in midfield was seized upon and Chris Cates used his pace to score a superb try under the posts. Johnson converted. Hornets dominated the lineouts and their trademark rolling maul was effective, but Clevedon generally had it under control. A blind side break from a scrum by Johnson put Bushell in for his hat trick, which Johnson again converted. Hornets were rewarded with a converted try for their efforts, but Clevedon finished with an excellent try after a set move from a scrum and a long pass by the influential Brooks, put Cates in for a try in the corner.
