Clevedon ventured into Gloucester without Lowis, Shopland, Biggins and Thompson and came away with nothing, throwing away a 23-7 lead.

Clevedon applied the early pressure with John Pearce prominent and took the lead with two penalties by Tom Thie. They also had the upper hand in the scrums and demolished the home pack on occasions but failed to defend a high ball that resulted in a converted try for Centralians. Clevedon quickly replied with an individual try by Thie collecting his own kick ahead. Before the break, good ball retention resulted in play being switched to the left for Tom O'Rouke to score a fine try following up his own grubber kick.

In the second half Clevedon had to play up the slope and soon increased their lead with a penalty try which Thie converted. Centralians then put their game together and exploited Clevedon's lack of pace in the back row to quickly score two converted tries and then take the lead with a penalty. Thie replied for Clevedon to put them 26-24 ahead but in the dying moments, slack tackling by Clevedon gifted the home side with a try to win.
