 North Bristol 0 Clevedon 47

This top of the table verses bottom of the table clash turned out to be a spectacle of running rugby. Clevedon dominated in every phase of the game and took the lead with a try by Chris Cates after early pressure resulted in nothing. Clevedon won so much ball and opportunities were squandered until a good forward drive resulted in Owen Biggins crashing over for a try. Before the break James Shopland scored a try from a scrum near the line. The first half produced a good performance from the pack with John Pearce and Neil Tucker outstanding.

The second half again showed Clevedon dominant with North Bristol always defending bravely. A fine handling movement saw Adi Freeman score under the posts for Mike Lowis to convert the extra points. Clevedon’s policy was to run everything and good handling produced tries for Tom Thie (2), Neil Tucker, Mike Lowis and John Pearce. Steve Pimm, deputising for Neil O’Rourke had an armchair ride behind the Clevedon pack and is obviously a player for the future.
