Clevedon were on a revenge mission against a young Old Centralians side, who were the only team to defeat them in the league this season.

Clevedon took an early lead through a penalty by Mike Lowis. The visitors hit back with the same and had the better of the first quarter. Clevedon then took the lead with a penalty try which Lowis converted.

Clevedon, although slow to settle now began to show signs of putting their game together with some good forward drives, well led by man of the match, John Pearce. Two good handling movements saw tries fron Owen Biggins and Mike Lowis before half time with Lowis converting one. Clevedon led at the break by 22-3.

The second half showed Clevedon at their best with the scrum and lineout areas being dominant. Old Centralians certainly played their part and ran the ball at every opportunity, but it was Clevedon who struck first with Mike Lowis scoring a try in the corner after good support play and well timed passing.

Old Centralians hit back with a penalty and Lowis then replied with his second penalty. Clevedon's purple patch continued with three outstanding tries, two from Biggins and one by prop Nick Hill who sprinted 40 metres for his try under the posts. Lowis converted two of them. With the game won, Clevedon fielded all their replacements, Mike Sweet, Neil West and young Matt Foster on the wing. Right at the death, Old Centralians scored a deserved try which was converted.
